Return to The Snowman

Overseen by an Award-Winning Illustrator

Tasked with bringing The Snowman to life for the first time on a UK coin was artist Natasha Ratcliffe. A member of the Council of the British Art Medal Society, Natasha has displayed collections of her work at both the British Museum and The V&A in London. In 2010 her designs were chosen to feature on 50p coins released to celebrate the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Overseeing Natasha’s work was long-time Raymond Briggs collaborator, Robin Shaw. The award-winning animator and illustrator brings a special link to the project, serving as Assistant Director on The Snowman and the Snowdog, the sequel to the original animated adaptation of the book. Robin has worked on a number of acclaimed children’s favourites. In 2016 he made his debut as a director on an animated feature with We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, adapted from the children’s classic by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury. His first picture book, Me and My Dad, was published by Hodder Children's Books in May 2017.
