Meet the Procurement Team

KIM LAMBERT

Strategic Sourcing Manager

Kim Lambert is a Strategic Sourcing Manager with over 30 years’ experience within procurement and stores and has been working within the regulated procurement requirements of the Public Contracts Regulations for over 18 years. During her career Kim has held a variety of positions, included leading procurement teams, stores management, developing procurement systems, category management and delivering procurement transformation

Kim’s experience spans a number of different sectors from the coal industry to automation, aviation, local authority, utilities and further education.

Kim joined The Royal Mint 12 months ago right in the middle of the pandemic and comments: “It’s a busy but enjoyable environment and I’m fortunate to be part of the strategic team working with Lee, who is an incredibly supportive manager and mentor, and our leader Jo, who is developing exciting plans for our future. The history of The Royal Mint makes my role all the more interesting and I feel a sense of pride working for The Original Maker.”

HELEN ROBERTS

Senior Buyer

Helen joined The Royal Mint 6 months ago as a Senior Buyer. Helen has responsibility for the day-to-day requirements of the indirect category and has two buyers and an assistant buyer reporting into her. Helen has extensive sourcing experience and has spent time working in the Far East as well as the UK.

Senior Buyer

Cei joined The Royal Mint in 2007 and for the last 9 years has been a senior buyer covering off the three main categories of metals, packaging and indirect goods and services. Cei currently has responsibility for metals and has a buyer and an assistant buyer reporting into him.

“I’ve really enjoyed the variety of challenges we as a team encounter, this can be anything from arranging a facilities management contract to clean our office and building, procuring multi-million-pound capital equipment or, as in my current role, seeking sources of supply across the globe for the supply of precious metals that meet our rigorous quality and ethical standards. This business nurtures an environment that allows you to feel trusted in making decisions and is built around people as its foundation. It’s no coincidence that generations of families still work in The Royal Mint.”
