This four-coin UK 20p coin set is ideal for modern collectors. It includes one coin dated 1982 and another dated 2022, which bears a special privy mark to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the denomination. The first UK 20p coin featured William Gardner’s double rose design on the reverse and Arnold Machin RA’s definitive coinage portrait of Her Majesty The Queen on the obverse. In this portrait, Her Majesty wears the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, which her grandmother Queen Mary gave to her. The set also features obverse designs that display definitive coinage portraits of The Queen by Raphael Maklouf, Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS and Jody Clark. In the portraits created by Raphael Maklouf and Jody Clark, The Queen wears the Diamond Diadem, which the monarch wears on the journey to and from the State Opening of Parliament. In 2008, the reverse design of several UK coins changed following a competition won by Matt Dent and his design for the 20p coin appears in this set.
