Can I use coins from the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man in the UK?

Coins issued by the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man are not legal tender in the UK, so they cannot be used as UK currency.

The Channel Islands and the Isle of Man are Crown Dependencies and issue their own banknotes and coins. Like UK coins, their coins feature a portrait of the monarch, but they are only legal tender within the relevant Crown Dependency.

If you have a coin from the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man and would like more information about it, we recommend contacting the relevant Crown Dependency.
