Building Confidence and Careers
Over the last 50 years, The King’s Trust has helped young people to develop the confidence and skills to build a better future for themselves.

After completing his duty in the Royal Navy, His Majesty King Charles III, then Prince of Wales, used his Navy severance pay to fund several community initiatives that became the foundations of The Prince’s Trust.
In 2024, the charity was renamed The King’s Trust to reflect His Majesty The King’s continued commitment to the charity’s mission.
Since 1976, The King’s Trust has supported more than 1 million young people across the United Kingdom, helping those who are unemployed or struggling at school to develop the confidence and skills they need to get ready for work, secure a job or start a business.

Celebrate 50 Years of The King’s Trust
We are paying homage to 50 years of The King’s Trust with a new UK 50p coin that is available as part of the 2026 Annual Sets. The coin’s reverse design brings together The King’s Trust logo with symbolic imagery that reflects both the charity’s pioneering personal development programmes and its ongoing commitment to empowering young people for generations to come. The design was created by Jessica Gregorio, a beneficiary of The King’s Trust.
