The Shēngxiào Collection celebrates the Chinese lunar calendar. Traditionally, at Chinese New Year, people share gifts that symbolise love, luck and good fortune with family, friends and colleagues. The lunar calendar helps people set out important dates to celebrate significant life events.

Since 2014 we have marked the Chinese zodiac by releasing new additions to The Shēngxiào Collection. Each animal in the zodiac has been marked by the release of a coin, which represents the personality traits of people born in that particular year. 2019 sees the Year of the Pig join the collection, and it is marked with a coin designed by Harry Brockway, fusing British craftsmanship with ancient Chinese traditions. The design portrays the loyalty, compassion and diligence of people born in the Year of the Pig.
