The Una and the Lion bullion bar collection celebrates the intricate artistry of William Wyon, whose 1839 engraving is a pivotal design in British coinage. Commissioned to commemorate Queen Victoria, Wyon’s rendition of this iconic pairing elegantly captures the themes of virtue and resilience that are intrinsic to the characters of Una and her formidable lion in Edmund Spenser’s The Fairie Queene. Featuring a detailed representation of the youthful princess alongside her steadfast lion, who serves as a potent emblem of strength, courage and integrity, the Una and the Lion Edition II bullion minted bar range continues this homage.
