Norse mythology is packed with rich and fascinating stories that involve captivating characters, none such more than Thor, the almighty god of thunder. The son of Odin, king of the Norse gods, Thor possesses divine strength that he puts to use killing giants and trolls, as well as protecting the gods of Asgard and all of humankind. His power is so great, Thor is able to lift the Midgard serpent, the creature that will eventually lead to the deity’s demise.  

Unlike his father, Thor is heavy tempered and rash to act upon his anger, which is so often fuelled by the mischievous antics of Loki. Although, one of Loki’s conniving schemes led to the creation of Thor’s hammer, Mjollnir, which he wields with supreme might. Thor wears a belt, known as Megingjard, which enhances his strength, and drives a chariot pulled by two male goats named Tanngniost (Teeth-grinder) and Tanngrisnir (Teeth-barer). These features have been expertly woven into this stunning bullion bar’s mythological design, which is enhanced by a special antiqued finish.
