Can I visit The Royal Mint?

The Royal Mint Experience, The Royal Mint’s impressive visitor centre located in Llantrisant, South Wales treats visitors to a unique insight into Britain’s oldest manufacturing organisation. Just 20 minutes from Cardiff, with ample parking, visitors can experience a fascinating factory tour to learn about the people and events behind the coins in their pockets, and hear some surprising stories from our history. Highlights include the guided factory tour, an interactive exhibition and an opportunity to strike your very own coin. A well-stocked gift shop offers an enticing range of Royal Mint merchandise, and a bright and airy 60-seat café serves a range of refreshments from breakfast and morning coffee to lunch and afternoon tea.

There are a variety of spaces available for corporate events too, whilst a purpose-designed educational suite is popular with trips from primary school visitors engaging in a wealth of learning opportunities linked to the Key Stage 2 curriculum, whilst secondary school pupils find it the perfect place to explore aspects of engineering, design technology, art, history, business and culture.

The Royal Mint Experience is open all year - please check in advance for seasonal changes and Christmas opening hours. Opening times are 10am to 5:30pm daily. Last tour is at 4pm.
