The 2026 Annual Sets mark a significant milestone in this journey. For the first time, we have crafted 52 gold commemorative sets of our 2026 Annual Sets using recycled gold.
What do we mean by recycled gold?
Recycled precious metals are recovered and refined from existing sources, rather than newly mined.
Right now, there's no single industry definition for what 'recycled' means. That's why we're committed to being transparent about our products, so you can make better-informed choices.

Recycled Gold in the 2026 Annual Sets
The gold we have used in the Annual Sets is a blend of pre-consumer and post-consumer recycled gold, meaning it's been sourced from manufacturing surplus and discarded products such as old jewellery.
We have partnered with Sempsa to source jewellery that has been traded in, combined with production surplus coins from The Royal Mint.
This is a limited introduction as we refine our processes, but it represents the first step towards a bigger, exciting ambition.

Gold can be recycled infinitely without any degradation in quality, purity, or value; the recycled gold used in the Annual Sets coins is identical in every way to newly mined gold. These coins meet the same rigorous standards of craftsmanship and quality that The Royal Mint has maintained for over 1,100 years. We're demonstrating that sustainability and quality don't have to be mutually exclusive.
