The 2003 Sovereign
The Sovereign has long been regarded as The Royal Mint's flagship coin; respected, revered and sought-after the world over. This 2003 edition transports us back to an eventful year, one that saw the Archbishop of Wales, Rowan Williams, enthroned as the 104th Archbishop of Canterbury and rock and roll rebel Mick Jagger joined the establishment when he was granted a knighthood. The Sovereign reverts back to its most classic and timeless St George and the Dragon design, paired with the fourth circulating portrait of Her Majesty The Queen by Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS.
