This 2002 Half-Sovereign commemorates the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. The reverse features a rare change of design from Benedetto Pistrucci’s St George and the dragon to a modern interpretation of the Royal Arms by Timothy Noad. His design features a crowned Shield of Arms within an open laurel wreath and the date 2002 on the exergue line. Struck in 22 carat gold to Proof standard, this Half-Sovereign is slabbed. Graded PF70 Ultra Cameo, showing no post-production imperfections at five times magnification, the fields on the coin are deeply mirrored and it is heavily frosted for bold contrast.
