This Charles I Dassier Bronze Medal is in a Minimum of Extremely Fine condition. Jean Dassier was a Swiss engraver who became Chief Engraver of the Geneva Mint. Between the years 1731 to 1734, Jean struck a series of 34 medals that commemorated the kings and queens of England, from William the Conqueror to George II. This medal depicts Charles I on the obverse, who was king between the years 1625 and 1649. Charles I had several disagreements with parliament that led to the English Civil War, and he was eventually beheaded by Oliver Cromwell.
