The Edwardian era was a period of great change for the United Kingdom that featured social, cultural and political shifts that went on to influence the UK of today. Edward VII became king after the death of his mother, Queen Victoria, and reigned for nine years.
The sixpence was a popular denomination when it was in circulation and it is often associated with traditional and festive occasions such as weddings, christenings and Christmas. In 2016, we released a commemorative redenominated 6p coin for collectors to treasure.
This coin is also available as part of The Making of Modern Britain Edward VII Bundle, which offers collectors the opportunity to own an example of each of the circulating coins of Edward VII’s reign.
