The Edwardian era was a period of great social, cultural and political change for the United Kingdom. The second-longest heir apparent in British history, Edward VII only reigned for nine years upon his accession to the throne. He was often referred to as the ‘Uncle of Europe’, as he was related to almost every monarch on the continent.
The florin was first introduced during the reign of Queen Victoria in an early attempt at decimalisation.
This coin is also available as part of The Making of Modern Britain Edward VII Bundle, which offers collectors the opportunity to own an example of each of the circulating coins of Edward VII’s reign.
