Our exploration of the coinage and lives of influential kings and queens who have ruled the British Isles continues with the third release in our British Monarchs Collection. Dedicated to George I, the first Hanoverian king of Britain, this two-coin set brings together a 2022 British Monarchs George I coin and a guinea from the eighteenth century.

Meticulously recreated using modern technology, the reverse of the 2022 gold Proof coin features a recreation of a George I coinage portrait that first appeared more than 300 years ago, whilst Her Majesty The Queen’s fifth definitive coinage portrait appears on the obverse. Either featuring the second, third, fourth or fifth coinage portrait of George I, a historic gold guinea from the king’s reign completes the set. Presented in a case, a booklet exploring George I’s reign and the significance of the special coins in this set accompanies the coins.
