George V proof gold and silver "short" Set from 1911, his Coronation year.
Contains 10 coins in total, the gold Sovereign and Half-Sovereign, silver Halfcrown, Florin, Shilling, Sixpence and Maundy Set, all housed in original Royal Mint octagonal dated case.
Practically as struck and becoming very rare in the UK market-place, with the original dated case.
These shorter gold and silver proof sets were produced to celebrate the Coronation of King George V on 22nd June 1911, with a mintage of only 952 sets which is nearly 2,000 less than the full "long" gold proof set (2,812 sets).
