Pay Gap

As the oldest company in the United Kingdom and a major manufacturer, The Royal Mint has a unique opportunity to drive significant and impactful change in our industry. We are committed to closing the pay gap, inspiring new talent from schools and colleges to enter manufacturing, and driving greater transparency and inclusivity across the sector.

Commitment to Closing the Gap

We understand that to successfully transform our business for the future, and continue being a leading employer, we must foster a diverse and inclusive culture.

Average vs. Median Pay Gap

Our average pay gap is 13.8% in favour of women, whilst our median pay gap continues to be in favour of men. We are confident that we pay men and women equally for equivalent jobs, but women are typically under-represented within the manufacturing roles in our business, which affects the median pay gap.

Gender Parity

Over the last three years, we have consecutively favoured women in pay gaps. Although many perceive this as a step forward, we continue to strive for gender parity.
