Storage Fee Payment Methods

For automatic payments please set up a card on the Manage Storage Fees page of My Account

If you do not have a card set up you will need to add funds to your wallet each time you need to pay your storage fee invoice

How does paying by card work? 
You save your card with us, when your next storage fee is due, we will charge your card with the exact storage fee amount

When will my card be charged? 
Your card will be charged 14 days after your storage fee invoice is issued. The payment date will be displayed within your Storage Invoice. You will also get notified via email prior to the payment being attempted

Will I always get notice before a charge and how will I be notified? 
Yes, you will get notified via email when your storage invoice is generated. A reminder will also be displayed within my account reminding you that your payment will be charged to your saved card

Can I choose to keep paying from my wallet instead? 
Yes, you will be able to continue to keep paying by wallet in the short term, however we encourage all customers to move to paying via card as this will be more convenient to, so you don’t have to add more funds to your account each time you need to pay your storage fee

What happens if my card payment fails? 
If your payment fails you will see a message displayed within the storage fee card maintenance session in my account, along with an email to your registered email address. Your payment will not be reattempted, and the value of the storage fee will be charged to your wallet, you will then need to fund your account with the storage fee amount 

Can I use multiple cards?  
No, only one card can be registered to pay for your storage fee 

Can I change or remove my card at any time? 
Yes, you can manage your card at any time within the Manage Storage Fees page within the My Account section. The card available on your account on the payment date is the one that will be used to pay your storage fee

Can I pay early instead of waiting for the charge? 
No, if you have a card registered to pay for your storage fee, this will be your storage fee this will be charged on the payment date 

Are there any extra fees for paying by card?  
No, there are no additional fees when paying your storage fees by card 

Will I still be charged if I have funds in my wallet? 
Yes, if you have a card registered to pay for storage fees, this will be used to pay even though you have funds available within your wallet 

What happens if I have both wallet funds and a card set up?  
If you have a card registered to pay for storage fees, this will be used to pay even though you have funds available within your wallet 

How will this transaction appear within my Transaction History? 
You will continue to see a Transaction within your Transaction History, this will now have the Payment Method displayed within it. You will also see an additional Card Deposit transaction that will partner the storage fee transaction. This card transaction will have a note against it to determine that this was an automated deposit to pay for your storage fees 

What happens if I don’t pay the storage fee?  
If no card is saved the to pay for your storage fee on the payment date, the storage fee will be charged to your wallet. If this puts your account into arrears, the arrears will either be recovered when your holdings are sold back to The Royal Mint or your will need to fund your account to clear your outstanding arrears 

Will I still go into arrears?  
Yes, if you don’t save a card to pay for your storage fees, there is a potential that your account could go into arrears if you don’t fund your account for the storage fee amount

How can I catch up if I fall behind? 
You can fund your account at any time to clear any arrears you might have on your account
