Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to own a unique piece of minting history from The Royal Mint with our second Die Trial Pieces and Trial Pattern Piece Auction. Taking place on 6 March 2022 at 2pm (GMT), it will feature one-of-a-kind pieces, so this is a chance to add something extra special to your collection. Included in the auction is a highly desirable Una and the Lion pattern piece – a true numismatic rarity that comes from the very early stages of the trials process when an early pattern piece was created to test William Wyon’s iconic design on a gold kilo coin. Featuring a Matt finish and the original date 1839 in roman numerals, this exciting find is different from any other Una and the Lion piece and is sure to attract a lot of interest. Other auction highlights include The Queen’s Beasts 2021 UK Gold Proof Kilo Die Trial Piece, The 150th Anniversary of the Royal Albert Hall 2021 UK £5 Gold Proof Die Trial Piece and a selection of trial pieces that now feature an exclusive 2022 hallmark to commemorate the year of Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
