It’s been 95 years since Winnie the Pooh and his friends from the Hundred Acre Wood went on their first adventure and now they’re appearing on a series of coins struck by The Royal Mint for the first time. Inspired by A. A. Milne’s popular storybooks, the fifth coin to join the collection features Pooh’s know-it-all companion, Owl.
Captured in one of E. H. Shepard’s original illustrations, Owl is busy writing a message whilst a friendly bee flies in from the previous coins in the collection – perhaps it’s checking Owl’s spelling as he does get in a muddle sometimes!
Each coin is packaged with a fold-out wallet decorated with original illustrations where you can find out more about the helpful owl that is always ready to offer advice.
