The Queen's Beasts Return with the Falcon of the Plantagenets

The Queen’s Beasts Collection continues with the latest coin in the series. Following on from the mighty Black Bull of Clarence is the Falcon of the Plantagenets. The Plantagenet kings ruled England from the time of Henry II until Richard III’s defeat at the Battle of Bosworth in 1485. Status symbols among the ruling nobility who prized them for their hunting ability, in heraldry falcons embody unwavering focus. Originally associated with Edward III, this incarnation of the falcon perched above a fetterlock belongs to Edward IV, the first Yorkist king.
