Mark a Historic Event with a Sovereign Set
To celebrate the coronation of Her Majesty The Queen in 1953, The Royal Mint struck a special set of Proof Sovereign coins, which were given to the Royal Collection. In 2018, 65 years later, we celebrate the anniversary of Her Majesty’s coronation with a Proof Sovereign set once again but this time with a regal mint mark incorporated on the coins.
This set includes The Sovereign, The Half-Sovereign and The Quarter-Sovereign. All three coins feature the mint mark that was skilfully created by Royal Mint coin designers Natasha Preece and Joseph Melia, to sit alongside Benedetto Pistrucci’s St George and the dragon design. There are just 1,000 of these sets available in this Limited Edition Presentation, struck in 22 carat gold and finished to Proof standard.
