Honouring the fallen

As the two great conflicts that defined the twentieth century slip from living memory, war memorials preserve their legacy, a roll call of the fallen that reminds us of the fragility of peace. On Remembrance Day, two minutes of respectful silence forms a bridge to the past. Gone but not forgotten, we will always remember them – those who gave so much for the freedoms we enjoy today.

This year’s tribute from The Royal Mint has been struck on a UK £5 coin. Royal Mint coin designer Laura Clancy details a single blood red poppy; a moving homage to those who never came home.
