The House-proud Little Mouse Captured in Colour, on the Last Beatrix Potter Coin of 2018

Beatrix Potter’s captivating world set in the British countryside has been enjoyed by generations of children and adults around the world. The author and illustrator had a love of the natural world, giving her work a timeless quality that is as popular as ever. In 2016 we began a series celebrating the life and work of Beatrix Potter, and the coins featuring her countryside characters have been snapped up by loyal fans every year since. Mrs. Tittlemouse, the house-proud wood mouse, is the latest Beatrix Potter character to feature on an official UK 50p coin and she completes the 2018 collection.

The design for this coin celebrates Beatrix Potter’s own watercolour illustrations. Mrs. Tittlemouse carries the basket she uses to gather her dinner, with the finest of details captured in colour printing on the coin’s small surface. This limited edition sterling silver coin is finished to Proof standard and comes in a clear acrylic presentation case for safekeeping. It is also accompanied by a booklet with information on the story and quotes from Beatrix Potter’s original tales.
