On a new 50p coin for 2017

Mr. Jeremy Fisher  an Unfortunate Fisherman

Mr. Jeremy Fisher stars in the eighth of the little tales, a story of an eventful fishing trip that ends in Jeremy narrowly escaping being a trout’s dinner. ‘The Tale of Mr. Jeremy Fisher’ gives us a wider glimpse into the charming world Beatrix Potter created, as we meet some interesting friends in the story including Mr. Alderman Ptolemy Tortoise and Sir Isaac Newton.

Mr. Jeremy Fisher has been captured on this Brilliant Uncirculated 50p coin – the first time the famous fisherman has featured on an official United Kingdom coin. The coin comes in a fold-out case, inspired by Beatrix’s own watercolour illustrations, including more details about Jeremy’s tale.
