In 2016 Her Late Majesty The Queen turned 90, becoming the first British monarch to do so. Christopher Hobbs’ composition, inspired by Her Late Majesty’s love of flowers, wraps a wreath around the royal cypher in celebration of this unprecedented birthday.

For the first time ever, coins that have passed the rigours of the Trial of the Pyx are available to buy. Unchanged by the passing centuries, this ancient ceremony remains the ultimate test of production quality. Each of these coins has been inspected by hand and tested against the trial plates for any flaw or imperfection, offering a rare glimpse into the inner workings of The Royal Mint.

Presented complete with a brochure, a letter and a book about the Trial of the Pyx from The Goldsmiths’ Company, with a certificate of authenticity hand-signed by Graeme Smith, The Queen’s Assay Master, this release is a Royal Mint first.
