Designed by the illustrious engraver Bertram Mackennal and struck in India during the British Raj. The obverse shows the crowned bust of King George V facing left, with the legend 'GEORGE V KING EMPEROR'. 

The reverse contains the lettering ONE RUPEE INDIA and a wreath made of roses, thistle, shamrock leaves and lotus flowers signifying the connection between Great Britain and India.
