Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth II are the only British monarchs to reach the impressive and significant milestone of a Diamond Jubilee, which marks 60 years of service. This two-coin set includes the 1897 Sovereign, issued the year of Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee, and the 2012 Sovereign, issued to mark the year in which Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her Diamond Jubilee. The 2012 Sovereign features a rare change of reverse design that was created especially for the occasion, depicting a modern interpretation of the classic St George and the dragon motif by sculptor Paul Day. This limited-edition reverse design only features on 2012-dated Sovereigns and is particularly sought-after by Sovereign collectors.
