The Royal Mint is bringing together its precious metals investment and luxury jewellery businesses with the launch of the 886 by The Royal Mint Bullion Bar Collection, demonstrating how its expertise in precious metals manufacturing is creating new commercial opportunities beyond traditional coin production.

The collection marks the first time The Royal Mint's investment-grade 1g Britannia gold bullion bars have been incorporated into fine jewellery, creating a new product category that combines investment-grade precious metals with luxury British craftsmanship.

The launch reflects The Royal Mint's strategy to expand its precious metals business by combining its expertise in bullion, jewellery, advanced manufacturing and precious metals recovery. It also demonstrates how the organisation is applying capabilities developed across different parts of the business to create innovative, premium consumer products.

Crafted at The Royal Mint's manufacturing site in South Wales, the collection comprises a signet ring and pendant necklace, each featuring a 1g, 999.9 fine gold Britannia bullion bar. Gold editions incorporate 18-carat gold recovered from electronic waste at The Royal Mint's pioneering precious metals recovery facility, Reformation Metals,

Techniques traditionally associated with coin production, including precision casting and specialist precious metal finishing, have been adapted by The Royal Mint's craftspeople to create the contemporary jewellery, leveraging more than 1,10 years of precious metals expertise.

Each investment-grade Britannia bullion bar retains the advanced security features developed for The Royal Mint's bullion products, including a latent image, surface animation and micro-text. Designed by Jody Clark, the Britannia motif remains a globally recognised symbol of trust, quality and British craftsmanship.

Sean Millard, Chief Growth Officer at The Royal Mint, said:

"This collection celebrates British craftsmanship, bringing together our investment-grade bullion with the design expertise of 886 by The Royal Mint in an entirely new way. It reflects how we are drawing on centuries of manufacturing excellence to create timeless jewellery that responds to growing consumer demand for products defined by authenticity, provenance and enduring value.

"Creative Director Dominic Jones has applied the distinctive design signature of 886 by The Royal Mint to one of our most iconic products - the Britannia Bullion Bar- creating a collection that redefines the relationship between investment and fine jewellery. Each piece showcases the bar's iconic form, paired with exceptional precious metals craftsmanship.

"The result is a collection of heirloom-quality jewellery that honours both innovation and heritage. Pieces to be treasured today and passed down through generations."

The 886 by The Royal Mint Bullion Bar Collection includes a Bullion Bar Signet Ring and Bullion Bar Pendant Necklace. Both are available in sterling silver and 18-carat yellow gold recovered from electronic waste, featuring an investment-grade 1g Britannia bullion bar.

The Bullion Bar Signet ring is available now from www.886bytheroyalmint.com and the pendant will be released shortly.
