First Female Leader of The Royal Mint Announces Departure after 18-year Career

Anne Jessopp, the first female Chief Executive Officer at The Royal Mint, has today announced that she is to step down as the organisation enters the next phase of its transformation.
After being appointed CEO and Deputy Master of the Mint in 2018, Anne Jessopp has decided to pursue a new leadership opportunity after an 18-year career at The Royal Mint. Jessopp is the first woman to lead The Royal Mint in its 1,100-year history.
Reflecting on her decision, Anne Jessopp, said: "It has been a real privilege to lead The Royal Mint through such a significant period in its history. Over the past 8 years, we have transformed into a commercially focused organisation; adapting to the declining use of circulating coin and evolving our businesses for a more sustainable future."
“This has not been an easy decision but as we approach the next stage of our journey, it feels like the time is right for me personally to take on new transformation challenges and learn from new experiences."
"I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together. Most importantly, I am proud of the talented and dedicated people whose commitment has enabled The Royal Mint to continue to innovate and succeed."
Chris Walton, Chair of the Board, commented: “Anne Jessopp has successfully led The Royal Mint through a period of profound transformation. Her leadership has laid the basis for our future."
“I thank Anne for the dedication and service that she has displayed and I wish her well in her new endeavours.”
Anne Jessopp will remain in post until the 2027-28 financial year and the process of appointing a successor will commence shortly.
