Celebrate the exploits of one of the galaxy’s pluckiest droids in this epic space saga
BB8 steals our hearts from his very first scene on the desert planet of Jakku. Poe Dameron’s astromech droid is entrusted with part of a map that leads to legendary Jedi Luke Skywalker. Separated from his master, he must keep the map from the villainous clutches of the First Order and deliver it safely into the hands of the Resistance. As he speeds away across the sand looking for help, a new adventure begins.
As we meet the galaxy’s next generation of heroes and villains, Royal Mail has produced a stamp and coin cover celebrating some of the series’ most iconic characters. Royal Mail’s striking stamps are accompanied by a specially commissioned Royal Mint medal.
This limited edition cover features a stamp sheet including eight stamps and an information card written by Star Wars expert Simon Beecroft. On the back is a stunningly detailed schematic plan drawing of BB8. Each cover contains a hallmarked, silver Proof medal designed exclusively for this product.
The obverse of the medal shows BB8 in brilliant detail aboard the Millennium Falcon, Han Solo’s battle-scared Corellian YT-1300f light freighter. The reverse shows the little droid with Rey, a desert scavenger who takes pity on him and lets him tag along for the ride.
The stamps are cancelled by an exclusive handstamp featuring the Star, Winscombe location, uniquely tying these stamps to the cover.
