This was the first time that we used Pistrucci’s original masterpiece with the full inscription on a member of the Sovereign family since 1820. Struck to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Benedetto Pistrucci Sovereign of 1817 and based on the original design of 1817 with the plumed helmet, St George and dragon right, surrounded by the Order of the Garter with a buckle, HONI SOIT QUI MAY Y PENSE.
The reverse inscription translates as 'Evil be to he that evil thinks'.
