When you scan the urban skyline, spotting iconic buildings elicits a special thrill. City Views is a new coin series celebrating the great cities of the world and the landmarks that define them. The coin series will run over a number of years, with the designs featuring cities from around the world.
‘The most important thing for me while modelling such intricate designs is to capture as much detail as possible. The challenge here was to create a relief that preserved as much of the charm of the original engravings while still being readable on a much smaller scale. This prompted us to pursue new ways of thinking, creating methods and techniques that have not been used before.’
