This £1 coin will be much sought-after being a must-have second coin in the new City Series focussing on the four capital cities of the UK. It celebrates Belfast, capital city and heart of Northern Ireland. The first coin, celebrating London, was also issued in 2010 and the series will be completed in 2011 with the coins for Cardiff and Edinburgh.
A sparkling silver Proof Piedfort £1 coin, containing twice the amount of silver as the standard silver coin, is always a great favourite. A limited edition complete with Certificate of Authenticity, it makes a wonderful gift for a special occasion – a christening perhaps or a retirement gift.

The £1 City Series
The new series of £1 coins representing the four constituent parts of the UK has begun this year. England and Northern Ireland coins make their debut in 2010 and the coins for Scotland and Wales will be released in 2011.
The four reverse designs of the City series focus on the four capital cities of the UK featuring the coats of arms of each capital city. They are the work of Stuart Devlin AO, CMG who holds the Royal Warrant of Appointment as Goldsmith and Jeweller to Her Majesty The Queen.
Being a legal tender coin of the UK, the obverse bears the portrait of the Queen by Ian Rank-Broadley, FRBS. Please note the 2010 silver Piedfort £1 coin has a maximum coin mintage of 5,000.
