This is an absolutely must-have collection for coin enthusiasts everywhere and would make a very British gift for friends and family celebrating in 2011.
The eight definitive coins, familiar in everyday use today, capture the history of Britain in their own unique way.
The £2 coin, introduced in 1997 and the first bi-colour coin for the UK, celebrates the march of technology from the Iron Age to the Internet and was designed by Bruce Rushin who won a public competition to find a suitable reverse design.
The lower denominations from the 50p to the 1p unite to reveal the Royal Arms seen in its entirety on the £1 coin and were designed by Matthew Dent who won the public competition to find designs to replace those created for the first decimal coins of 1971.
