New and improved for 2013 to mark 60 years of the Queen’s coinage

16-piece limited edition 2013 Proof Coin Set

After the sell-out success of the 2012 Premium Proof Coin Set, we are delighted to introduce the new Premium Proof Coin Set for 2013 with, for the first time, a limited edition print.

In addition to all eight definitive coins the set contains the Coronation £5 crown, the Guinea £2, two London Underground £2 coins and two floral emblem £1 coins, the Christopher Ironside 50p as well as the 2013 Premium medal.  With just 4,000 being released, this set is likely to sell out fast, so act now to secure yours.

What's in the set

Celebrate the milestone of 60 years of the Queen’s coinage with a Limited-Edition Presentation set of hand-finished Proof coins, the pinnacle of the minter’s art.

The crowning glory in this set is undoubtedly the Coronation £5 coin. Also included are:

  • - The £2 coin celebrating the 350th anniversary of the Golden Guinea
  • - Two £2 coins celebrating the 150th anniversary of the London Underground
  • - Two £1 coins depicting floral emblems of England and Wales, and
  • - A new 50p coin commemorating the 100th anniversary of the birth of Christopher Ironside.

A sell-out in 2012, this prestigious set is limited to just 4,000 in 2013. It contains most of the major UK coins of 2013 and the Premium Medal which can only be acquired as part of this set. Plus, for the first time ever, you’ll receive a Limited-Edition Print of the Commemorative coins.

The 2013 Premium Medal

The 2013 medal focuses on the Celtic whorls at the heart of the definitive £2 coin reverse, its obverse design exploring the revolutionary minting techniques developed in 1996 to create a latent image as a coin security device and safeguard against counterfeiting. The intricate obverse design replicates the latent image at the centre and, like that on the actual coin, changes when viewed in a different light or at a different angle. The spiralling circular inscription was inspired by the computer language devised to ‘write’ the security details into the original coin design.

2013 premium proof coin set

By Norman,

as usual outstanding craftmanship from the coins to the display case my only comment on the downside is that this set cost £60 more than last years set ?? ok there may be one or two extra coins but to charge an extra £60 is very questionable and don't forget the postage at £6 odd
