Hallmarks
The hallmark of each silver striking can be found on its plain edge and is made up of three individual marks, those denoting the alloy, the London Assay Office and the year date. There are also two other registered marks: the sponsor's mark and the Royal Mint's distinctive Tower mark. DB and AJS The initials of the former Deputy Master David Barrass and those of the new Deputy Master Andrew J. Stafford. The Tower The Royal Mint's own mark alluding to its long association with the Tower of London.
