
Mike Davies *
Chairman
Mike Davies began his career at British Aluminium Company, joining Williams Holdings plc in 1986. From 1988 he served on the main board of Williams plc, running various business divisions. In 1996 he left to lead a management buy-out ultimately creating the Baxi Group, a large European heating business. He is now non-executive Chairman of Marshalls plc and a non-executive director of Taylor Woodrow plc and of Pendragon plc. He took the position of Chair at the Royal Mint on 7 March 2007.

Colin Balmer *
Chairman of the Audit Committee
Colin Balmer was appointed to the Royal Mint Board in May 2007. Colin is also the Government's nominated director on the Board of QinetiQ Plc. For over six years he was a member of the Financial Reporting Advisory Board, an independent body tasked by Parliament with promoting high standards in financial reporting by Government, and he is currently a member of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office's Audit and Risk Committee. Much of Colin's career was spent at the Ministry of Defence where he rose to become Finance Director. From 2003 until 2006 Colin was Managing Director of the Cabinet Office.

Mary Chapman *
Chair of the Remuneration Committee
Mary Chapman was appointed to the Royal Mint Board in April 2008. She is currently Chief Executive of the Chartered Management Institute and a member of the National Lottery Commission. She was previously Chief Executive of Investors in People UK and held senior management and marketing roles with the L'OREAL cosmetics group. Mary has a breadth of experience in consumer marketing and the strategic development of brands, people and organisations.

David Harding *
David Harding was appointed to the Royal Mint Board in April 2008. He is currently Chairman of Coventry Building Society, the UK's fourth largest mutual and a non-executive director of Enterprise Inns plc. He was previously Finance Director of Railtrack plc and has an extensive earlier experience in manufacturing industries including T&N plc and TI Group plc. David has a high level of financial expertise and a broadly based understanding of manufacturing industries.
Representative of the Royal Mint Trading Fund and HM Treasury as shareholder.

Adam Lawrence
Chief Executive
Adam Lawrence was appointed Chief Executive on 1 January 2011.
Adam is an experienced Executive. He began his professional career as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse. Since 1995, he held a number of senior positions with Catalent Pharmaceuticals for businesses located across Asia Pacific, Europe and the US. He was Vice President Finance for the Sterile Technologies division before leaving in 2008 to join the Royal Mint as Director of Finance.
Adam was appointed as Chief Operating Officer in May 2010 and holds an MBA from Monash Mt Eliza Business School.

Vin Wijeratne
Director of Finance
Vin is a Chartered Accountant and has held a number of senior finance positions in the public sector and private sector. He began his career as Assistant Finance Director within the NHS and then joined the Digital Equipment Corporation which is now part of Hewlett-Packard. He then worked for over twelve years in Orange the mobile network operator and internet service provider in both their international division and UK business where he was the Commercial Finance Director and then the Director of Strategic Planning. He joined the Royal Mint at the end of 2010.

Anne Jessopp
Company Secretary
Anne has worked in HR across a number of sectors, gaining manufacturing experience early in her career at Rolls Royce and Procter and Gamble. She went on to gain consumer experience at Radio Rentals and RAC. More recently, she was HR Director of an industrial services company and Remploy, before joining the Royal Mint in 2008. Particular areas of focus have been working with companies who are developing their culture and undergoing significant change.
