The Role:

You will be responsible for creating and delivering the marketing plan that launches and promotes The Royal Mint’s Visitor Experience, with additional responsibilities for managing the online and offline brand positioning and experiences. Key objectives include:

  • Create and deliver a marketing plan to successfully launch the Visitor Experience in Spring 2016, with measurable milestones
  • Work closely with the tourism industry and tour operators to build strategic partnerships and promote  the Visitor Centre in order to ensure a consistent and high volume of visitor traffic to the attraction
  • Translate The Royal Mint’s brand positioning into the experiential nature of the Visitor Centre, ensuring that the attraction is brought to life to offer relevant customer engagement
  • Access, understand, analyse and report on tourism market dynamics to ensure that all plans are based on robust statistical and market-relevant insights, and to ensure that all activity has the best opportunity for success based on customer and market insight
  • Provide content and messaging to PR and Social Media teams in order to keep media and fan stakeholders informed and interested
  • Support on the development of consumer and corporate brand positioning for The Royal Mint
  • Support on the development of Visual Identities for key Royal Mint products and services
  • Support on the development of a new corporate website ( that shifts the emphasis from pure ecommerce to brand destination that fully represents the full business and is closely aligned with The Royal Mint Visitor Experience. Manage the onward integration of the online and offline brand experiences

Knowledge, skills and experience required:-

  • Minimum five years’ tourism industry/visitor attraction strategic marketing planning, management and experience
  • Experience of arranging, negotiating and managing strategic partnerships within the tourism and tour operator industry
  • Experience of planning, arranging, building and manning industry and consumer events presence
  • Understanding of and access to tourism industry statistics, trends and analysis
  • Retail marketing experience
  • Website planning, content management and delivery
  • Brand positioning/guideline development and implementation
  • Creating and delivering presentations at senior level
  • Experience of establishing and leading cross-functional teams
  • Graduate calibre
  • Membership of professional marketing and/or tourism industry organisation
