The Queens Diamond Jubilee Head of Armed Forces Silver Proof

2012 is proving to be one of the most historic years we have lived through with The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee being the crowning glory. To celebrate this momentous event, a prestigious new coin has been issued which reflects The Queen’s many links, both personal and official, with the three professional armed forces whose members swear allegiance to her.

Designed by Royal Mint Engraver Thomas Docherty this elegant new Alderney £5 Silver Proof coin shows the Tri-Insignia badge, with the eagle of the Royal Air Force, the swords of the British Army and the anchor of the Royal Navy, with the crown sitting above them all.

The elegant design also includes The Queen’s own words, from her speech at the first Armed Forces Day in 2009, in which she expressed her ‘deep and enduring gratitude for all those who served their country’.
